What will be an ideal response?

Answer: Five ways that companies can work more closely to achieve efficient management of procurement system in Ghana are:

1. Reducing the Supply chain Disruptions:

With the technology evolvement in the past decade the operational procedures have become more complex for the companies especially when employees are technically less skilled. Thus it is important for companies to maintain effective communication and knowledge transfer along with streamlining the supply chain process to reduce disruptions.

2. Training Managers and Employees:

The lack of skills of managers and lack of strategies on management level along with naive employees all adds up to fall of the procurement process. Thus there has to be proper training sessions for different levels of employees especially designed as per the hierarchy. So it's not tough for them to adapt.

3. Reduce Corruption and Political involvement:

The political involvement has forced the employees to be corrupt in most of the companies for personnel benefit hampering the quality of service, public mistrust and company reputation. Strong measures should be implemented to eradicate corruption from the process only then the procurement system can function properly.

4. Accurate sharing of data:

The data shared amongst companies should be accurate and relevant. Data plays a very important role in the procurement system. And until and unless proper and accurate data is not shared between companies there would always be a fault leading to loss of one company for the benefit of another rather than mutual benefit which should always be the aim.

5. Removing resistance to E- procurement:

The e- procurement process is still being rejected in a lot of companies due to the complexity that it adds to the process. Moreover also the hacker attacks and suppliers not contributing well towards the electronic system is also a major concern. Which demands an efficient supplier training, and investing well in skills and technology to keep the system safe and efficient. Thus the companies need to focus more in making the employees believe and have faith in the e- procurement process.
