Universally designed curriculum frameworks incorporate assessment and progress monitoring that includes attention to each child's development and learning needs to ensure access and participation and appropriate learning opportunities that are developed based on these needs. In addition, appropriate scope and sequence strategies are implemented. Scope refers to the broad interrelated areas of development or content knowledge that are targeted within the curriculum, whereas sequence refers to the order in which materials are introduced. Finally, activities and intervention strategies provide rich learning opportunities.
