My hair dryer is rated at 1500. watts and my television only uses 100. watts, so why do I pay more for electricity for my TV than for my hair dryer in a year?

What will be an ideal response?

One pays for energy, not power. I use my TV so much longer that its energy usage (power X time) is more than the hair dryer.
