Explain what Gordon means when he suggests that teachers should try to determine who owns a problem before deciding how to handle it

What will be an ideal response?

If a student's behavior results in the teacher's becoming upset or irritated, the teacher owns the problem and must respond by doing something to stop the student's behavior. However, if the student expresses disappointment or anger about a classroom incident, the student owns the problem. Identifying problem ownership allows teachers to resolve difficulties more effectively.
