What are the consequences of having your grade-point average drop below your college's acceptable minimum?
What will be an ideal response?
Students whose grade-point average falls below the acceptable minimum may have to halt their studies if they are suspended. A low grade-point average may also affect students' eligibility for grants or loans. If they hold a scholarship, they may lose it (permanently) if their GPA slips. Students with low grades may also have difficulty transferring to another college and may spend several semesters trying to raise their average. If their average is very low, they may have to earn extremely high grades in consecutive semesters to offset the grades that have led to difficulties in the first place.
