What are the principal features of cultural gangs?
What will be an ideal response?
Cultural gangs are strongly grounded in a neighborhood identity, and members may be involved in crime, including drug trafficking. They are maintained by loyalty to the gang and the neighborhood. Involvement in drug use and dealing can serve as a membership requirement, and stature in the group may be linked to success in the drug trade, but the group defines itself in terms of brotherhood, is highly protective of their turf, and engage in non-utilitarian violence with other gangs. Cultural gangs are not organized expressly to sell drugs, but the gang organization facilitates that activity.
