Describe the financial effects to a medical facility of missed appointments.

What will be an ideal response?

Missed appointments result in reductions in revenues without corresponding reductions in costs. Employee salaries, facility rent or mortgage, maintenance, loan interest, utilities, equipment depreciation, etc. must be paid for with fewer patient visits to provide revenue. This drives up the medical facility's average cost per patient.
