Avoid oversimplifying and making broad generalizations. Avoid confusing correlation with causation. Be sure to consider assumptions that form the basis for conclusions. Pay close attention to the sources of claims. Question the evidence upon which claims are based. Finally, consider alternative ways of explaining claims.
