Discuss body mass index (BMI) in relation to health risks

BMI measures weight in relation to height and shows that health risks increase at higher levels of overweight and obesity. Additionally, even when within the healthy BMI range, weight can also indicate risks for adults. The BMI ranges are for adults only. It should also be noted that BMI does not show the difference between fat and muscle. It may inaccurately predict health problems in a person with large muscle mass such as a body builder or football player.
