What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of interviewing via e-mail or text?

What will be an ideal response?

When you need quick information from a source that is notoriously hard to reach, a simple exchange of e-mails, texts, tweets, or other digital contacts can make your life a lot easier. You also have a complete digital transcript of what the person wanted to say on the topic. However, you weaken your position when you only ask preset questions and give yourself no real opportunity to follow up. Even more, when a source has time to create a message, that message might not be as genuine as an initial response given during a live interview.
