Organizations can have their own values. Hofstede makes it clear that we enter work organizations as adults with most of our values firmly entrenched, but we become socialized to the practices of the work environment. For many organizations, the value systems were established by the personality of the leader; these were value-shaping leaders with visions to excite thousands of employees.
