It was decided that IQ-achievement discrepancy is an inadequate method of identifying LD, and that the use of reliable and valid data from progress monitoring is a promising addition for doing so. Lastly, they noted that much is known about effective interventions for students with learning disabilities and yet ineffective interventions continue to be used.
