Describe how the gene-environment interaction has affected the Pima Indians

What will be an ideal response?

ANS: The Pima Indians are genetically prone to obesity but when they live in Mexico, they have a more active lifestyle and are not obese. Pima Indians living in Arizona, on the other hand, are obese because they have adopted a more sedentary lifestyle and high-fat diet. People with a genetic predisposition for obesity have a greater challenge to maintain a healthy weight in an environment that is conducive to gaining weight.
