In addition to not promoting cruelty to animals, give two other reasons why people may choose to be vegetarians

Vegetarian diets are often lower in cholesterol and saturated fats, especially if a vegan diet is followed. Also, a lot of water, crops, and land are devoted to the growth of livestock for chicken, beef, or pork. Consider that land needs to be used to sustain the animals and more land needs to be used to grow the crops that feed these animals. Animals also produce a lot of methane (a greenhouse gas) and their manure can be harmful to the environment if mishandled. By eating only grain products or living animal products such as milk and eggs, vegetarians are able to better share the food crop with other people in the world.
