The TLC diet was recommended by the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) in 2001 for individuals with increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Recommendations include obtaining less than 7% of your day's total kcalories from SFA and consumption of no more than 200 mg/day of cholesterol.
