Intelligibility is the degree to which an audience can hear and understand words and is determined by vocal volume, distinctiveness of sound, accuracy of pronunciation, and stress placed on syllables, words, and phrases. Two ways we can improve our intelligibility is to make sure we pronounce words correctly and avoid vocal fillers such as "like" and "um."
