Why are these food additives referred to as "obesogens" as opposed to endocrine or hormonal disruptors
These food additions, called obseogens, affect the way that the body metabolizes macronutrients in foods and store fatty acids. Many people will recognize the term obsesogen as contributing to the obesity epidemic. They might not appreciate the impact of endocrine or hormone disruptors because there are many other hormones with other effects in the body.
