Brainstorming is a process in which you generate many ideas in order to solve a problem. You might use it when you are starting to think about taking a vacation, but you don't know when or where to go. You might use it when thinking about what kind of outfit you might want to where to an upcoming formal dinner. You might use it when thinking about what kind of car you want to buy. Once you create a list of options, you then have to think critically and make a smart decision based on your choices.
