Ans: Prolactin is the principal hormone that promotes milk production, when baby suckles it sends signal to brain to release prolaction, if suckling stops for a few days milk secretion stops. In releasing milk the "let down reflex" is stimulated by oxytocin which contracts muscles in tissue to release milk
