Describe the components of a comprehensive transition plan. Explain why each component is important
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Answer should include detailed discussion of the following components of a comprehensive transition plan: skills needed for effective transitioning (e.g., self-advocacy, self-determination, assertiveness, etc.), assessment plans, curriculum focus, graduation planning, occupational or career planning, future education, and planning for independent living. Answers as to why each is important may vary but should reflect the information in the chapter. In general, these skills prepare students with disabilities for post school opportunities in education, independent living, working environments, and generally being able to live as independently as possible.
