What is the difference between the three major types of validities?
What will be an ideal response?
Criterion-related validity is an assessment of the ability of a test to measure some other factor related to a test. It therefore occurs in selection when we can show a strong relationship between scores on a test prior to being employed in a job and performance on the job once the individual is hired. Content validity is an assessment of whether a test measures knowledge or understanding of the items it is supposed to measure. Construct validity measures a theoretical concept or trait that is not directly observable.
