Parents may recognize the test could provide them valuable, external information on their child’s academic performance as compared to peers in other districts and other states using the same assessment instrument. It could also be seen as an assessment of the Common Core standards and could provide information on which areas need to be focused on for improvement in the child’s next year of instruction.
