What will be an ideal response?
The programme should aim at three objectives (goals, people and culture) that
reflect each of the 10 dimensions.
o Goals: Providing direction and motivation
o People: Applying Meritocracy (rewards and opportunities for employees
are earned through their contribution to the success of the company),
Informality (for challenging each other constructively and respectfully)
and Candour (people deserve regular and honest feedback, at a minimum
twice a year)
o People: Ensuring that leaders have time for people (to attract, to develop
and to motivate)
o Culture: Teaching employees to focus on results delivered sustainably and
within the ethical framework and agreed rules of the company
o Culture: Treating consumers as partners to create enduring bonds
o Culture: Making employees act like the company is ‘theirs’, and so make
better decisions because of it
o Culture: Persuading employees that there is no substitute for common
sense and good judgement
o Culture: Transferring the view to employees that costs are the most
influential drivers fully within the control of the company, whilst the
marketplace is not
o Culture: Building the belief that attitudes and actions are much more
powerful than words
o Culture: Recognising that the company can only be the best with the
continued trust and engagement of all stakeholders, which can take years
to build
