Give an example of developing a negative habit using and labeling the three parts of developing a habit.
What will be an ideal response?
Answers will vary, but respondents should be sure to include the three parts, in order, of cue, routine, and reward. An example might be: Malik really likes to sleep, so when he wakes up (cue) his first thought is to go back to sleep if at all possible. When he awakes, Malik hits snooze on his phone, frequently more than once (routine). As a result, Malik gets the sleep he craves (reward), but sometimes overdoes it and ends up late for class.
