Laura started her meeting with Tom, the buyer for Hill Enterprises. The purpose of this meeting was to review the fabrics for the sofas Laura’s company would be producing for Hill Enterprises. Laura took out her design book, expecting to match material samples to the various designs and then close the sale.
Laura opened the meeting, asking, “What did you think of our material samples? I’ll bet you were very impressed with our latest line of microfiber fabrics.”
Tom looked surprised when he replied, “What samples? I haven’t received anything!”
Stunned, Laura said, “Are you serious? My secretary was supposed to have sent those out two weeks ago. You should have received them by now.”
