The use of technology in research is quite varied and may involve a range of technologies. For example, the use of Electroencephalographs, EEG, in collecting research data is an example of a technology that may be used in research. Another example, using the internet to provide counseling may be an interest of the research, e.g. text chats and skype. Additional examples used to determine the effectiveness of various technologies in professional applications include: bug in the ear, use of the internet, use of video, use of computers, iphone, and ipads, virtual reality, transcranial direct current stimulation (low current brain stimulation) and neurofeedback devices (. These are only a few examples, but I want to provide an introduction to how technology may be used in research and how it can be applied in counseling and education.
